8800gts Memory Clock question

Forgive me for this stupid question, but I need to ask it anyway. I just purchased a EVGA 8800gts (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130071) and was curious if it was running at its correct settings. I installed Riva Tuner and it says my memory clock is only 837, but on the specifications for the video card it's supposed to be 1600. Is that the right memory clock speed or am I just reading it wrong? Any help/suggestions would be appreciated

if its 800 then double it , its DDR (double data rate)837x2 is 1674

so your ok just remember that whatever the clock is on the memory to double it in your head when messing with the timing, only on the memory though, dont want to fry your core hehe. from my experience the memory can overclock much greater than the core , i have mine running at 600/900 (1800).

FYI, I used ATITool for my eVGA 8800gts 320, and got it up to 630/950. ATITool worked a little better for me than RivaTuner, so you might want to try both (not at the same time, though...)

It's actually only running at 837, but as it is DDR it effectively creates double the clock settings, so its 837 actual, 1674 effective. And remember, if you overclock, every 1 mhz increase on the memory will give you a 2 mhz increase effectively.
