My Asus 8800GT gpu (@ http://www.finalsense.com/hardware/asus_en8800gt.htm ) emits a buzzing noise which seems to be related to FPS. In loading or menu screens where the fps is very high it will emit easily audible squeek, in the actual game it gets away with silent buzz.
The weird thing is that I've identified most of the buzz coming from the onboard piezo speaker (which seems to be there for no apparent reason) so I glued something over it, it got better but the card still buzzes a bit, maybe a bit like some switching power supply noise. I'd say it's just audible in normal conditions.
Is there any reason giving the card on a warranty repair or do most cards do this? I guess it might be quite normal as the 100+W draw can make components vibrate, but I don't know...
