8800GT and this PS?

I remember my TT PurePower PSU...

It blow up and took my MB with it.:(

The first one should be plenty for an 8800GT. It looks like it can do 26 amps on the 12v rails and most GTs say something more like 22 amps.

To put it in perspective, I'm running a Phenom 9600 and an 8800GT on a Seasonic S12-430W powersupply without even working up a sweat. Admittedly, the Seasonic can deliver 29 amps on the 12V rails even though it has a lower overall power rating. That said, I have yet to notice the cooling fan on my PS even starting ramp up its speed.

If you push the TTs at all they like to do a soft fail :(

I put some cold cathodes in a AXP3000 system and the computer would not startup anymore. :( TT RMA department was great however. (may have been inverter though, pretty sure it was probably the inverter) My Xclio Goodpower 500 pushes the cold cathodes, X2 3600 at stable stock voltage at 2.7GHZ, and my 7800GT.

I agree. Seasonic or Corsair (HX series PSUs are made by Seasonic anyway). Best quality, and whisper quiet.

So what would be a good Corsair one, seeing how the 430W Seasonic is around $100? I'm really trying to keep this under $80.
