Hi,

I finally got my 8800GT working, the problem was the sound card being in. I have an Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic. I am wondering if it could be the sound cards fault or if it is another problem. My specs are

MoBo - Asus M2r32-MPV
GPU - eVGA 8800GT Superclocked
2GB Kinston Ram (cant think of the speed off hand)
Sound Card - Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic

Any input would be great!

Describing the specific issue you were having would be a great start. I have an 8800GT and an XtremeMusic card installed together.

When the sound card is installed the system will not boot up. I get one long beep and two short beeps. I tested the ram and that was not it. When i removed the sound card it booted perfectly. If you need anymore info just let me know.

Is onboard audio disabled in BIOS?
Is there another PCI slot you could try the sound card in?

The beep code you got is video card failure.
It could be that your PSU is on its limit and adding the soundcard tipped the balance and the video card complained first.
The video card uses the most power so is likely to be the first to complain about power problems.

Try unplugging everything you dont need to reduce power load.
Clock the cpu/ram lower too, reduce voltages if you can.
If that works you know that your hardware isnt faulty but your PSU might be!
