I decided to return my 2x512 ram i bought from crucial, I didnt see any performance gain in any of the games i played or in 3dmark. At all..... I think having it running in T2 effected its performance or something... I think im just gonna buy a new graphics card right now. Im think of getting the 8800gs, how much performance increase do you think ill get compared to my current 6800gs, which im gonna sell. I do plan to eventually replace many current memory with 2x1gb but for now im just looking to play my company of heroes game without having to have everything on low for it to be enjoyable...

320/640 are extremely close

so a huge increase
 
I had 2 7600gt in SLI and when I switched to an 8800gts the improvements were great.

You'll get even better gain than I had, trust me if you wanna see improvement in your games and you 3dMark score an 8800 will do it.
 
Question, how much would the 2x512 be holding me back? If at all... I do plan on upgrading it eventually, 2x1gb.
 
It really depends on the games you are running, some games use a lot more memory than others. If you are talking about FPS then you won't notice huge gaines with the extra gig. Again it does depend somewhat on the games you are playing.

If you are going to multitask ie surf the web, or burn cd's while gaming then the extra memory will be more of a benifit.

Thats good, cause i play mostly FPS, with exception of a few strategies, like company of heroes. Also i dont do any multitasking when playing games. I just notice most people have 2gb systems, i think im gonna hold off till i can get some more money together.
