Ok so this is weird. Load drivers, install the card. and everything SEEMS to be working. go to the device manager, card is installed and "functioning properly" fold at home will even let me use the card to crunch numbers. GPUz works fine, software sandra detects fine. The problem is that no matter what i do, i cant get the second monitor to show up. It doesnt even have a drop down box to select the 8800gt for multiple monitors. in other words, i can get no picture. Card works fine in a friends computer. tried it out earlier. tried disabling onboard vga to no avail. I have a Narra3 mobo with version6 phoenix bios. its a nvidia chipset on the board so I would think that these would play nice together. also its a 64bit pc running windows 7 ultimate. ive tried all the drivers as far back at 197.45 and the one before it..

anyone have any ideas???? the crisis shortcut on my computer has been staring at me every since the last card went out . lol

Have you tried both DVI ports? Maybe one is defective and either doesnt work at all or cant be detected by the actual card which in turn would explain the absence of the option in the drop down box.

Its got to be one of those Im thinking...I mean, if all the other software related stuff is working perfectly fine then I see no reason why dual monitors shouldnt work EXCEPT for the fact that its a hardware issue.

yes ive tried both, and as i said, i put the card in another pc and it works perfectly fine... i have no idea...

Just to clarify...when you say that you have put it in another PC both DVI ports work and dual monitor works as well? Well, if thats the case then there is definitely some kinda of driver issue. Have you tried uninstalling them, using a driver cleaner, then reinstalling the drivers?`

on the other computer im able to run all 3 ports...the vga, and the 2 dvi ports all work.

i used tune up utilies and removed all the quadro drivers that i had, manually uninstalled all the video drivers and then with with driver sweeper and cleaned up what was left... im starting to think its something with this Mobo cause the last 8800 gave me some issues as well. its time for a rebuild. ive upgraded everything but the mobo since i bought this from hp
