8500gt = ??? Quadro?

According to Wikipedia, the Quadro NVS 290 (PCI-Express) uses the G86 core from the 8500 GT, but also know that the 8300 GS and 8400 GS use that core codename too. Also worth noting that the NVS 290 does not support dual-link DVI.
