8400GS Can't do 720p?

I poked around the panel and didn't come up with anything. I apologize for the sparse original posting but I couldn't think of any more relevant information. I'm connecting to an Optoma HD70 projector which has historically been paired with my htpc (nvidia 8800 gfx) and my macbook pro (nvidia 8600 gfx). This is the first time I've attempted with the sony and its 8400 card. Any help is appreciated, thanks :)
