80mm fans

I need to get 2 good high cfm fans for my matx case.
1 will be for inlet and the other for exhaust.I am getting a hd4850 and my case has weak cooling.Noise will be a issue it cannot sound like a vaccuum cleaner but it doesn't need to be silent.
Please reccommend me 2 80 mm fans from newegg that are good.My case got hot as hell with the 8800gt I had and I can;t leave the case side off because of my daughter having access to it.Thankyou in advance

how will you be mounting the fans to the case? If you use screws you get a lot more vibration that translates into more noise. Also similar things can happen if you use a hard plastic cage with the case. The best thing I found for sound dampening is something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811999209 or if you have an antec case, some of mine came with some 'screw replacmeents' made of the same kind of silicon that will keep the fan away from the case itself as that is really the biggest source of noise with most fans.

Otherwise as far as fans themselves go you want decide what is more important in your case, cooling or noise? if you do not need a lot of airflow in your case than a low CFM fan is fine and therefore it is easy to find a cheap one that is also quiet. If you need a lot of airflow you will have to sacrifice some of that noise level to get a higher CFM fan. Just look at the different fans on newegg, they all have CFM and dBa ratings and pick one that fits what you want.

Finally, the biggest problem I have with buying a fan like this off of newegg right now is that they charge per-item shipping and so far as I can see, none of the 80mm fans has shipping for under $6.99! even for a fan as cheap as 1.99 without shipping.....

I will look around for another retailer that may be cheaper overall and still be reputable. I am thinking of nexfan but I do not know off the top of my head what their rates are for things like this.

nexfan does not appear to be around anymore... Anyhow I open up the question of where a good place to buy fans like this is other than newegg because the one I would probably buy for your situation is good and cheap at only 1.99 each but the cheapest shipping for two of them is 10.66..

I have a antec tri cool fan in it now.It is the fan with the speed switch on it and a blue led.
The fan is quiet but it does nothing for airflow.
I dont need super quiet it can make some noise thats fine just not like a space shuttle taking off

I always found panaflo fans to be good mix of airflow and acceptable noise levels.

well it says my fan has a db of about 30db.I cannot hear it at all so I can do more in terms of db rating.I dont want the loudest or the one that moves the most air.
My current fan is 34 cfm,I need 2x the airflow.

I can mount one of the fans to the side of the case to blow air directly onto the video card.This can be a 120mm fan I suppose.It is a area about 4.inches wide and 5 inches tall will a 120mm fan fit there?

I cannot go up on the fan size for the exhaust tho,only a 80mm will fit.What is the best you feel in terms of airflow and noise in a 80mm and a 120 mm?

the larger fan can rotate slower and still move the same air. It really depends though on which fan you get what its noise levels will be.

Dont want cheap junky fans I can pay for shipping on the fans I only need 2 of them.

I would think this a larger fan will move the same amount of air but will rotate slower lowering the noise.
Will a 120mm fan fit in a space 4inches wide and 5 inches tall? I am talking about a sqaure fan of course.Also how should the fans be configured the exhause with more or less cfm and why

On the 80mm fans I recommend if you notice the Mascool fans have 880 reviews and 5 eggs. These are not crappy pieces of junk just because the brand name is not antec vantec or panflo. If you want to go with something more expensive go ahead but I have used Mascool fans in past cpu cases with no issue, my friends and I bought several of them with a similar deal a few years back. They are of good build quality and even have a nice sleeve on the wiring to protect it from sharp edges inside the case. These fans even fit within your parameters of noise and airflow so far as I can see. Good luck whatever you decide ^^

I bought 10 of those masscool fans years ago and still have a couple of them kicking around new in the box. I undervolted a couple of them to 7V and they are almost silent. Not a single one has ever died on me. They come with the wiring sleeved which makes it easier to organize in the case and cleaner installation. They are the best deal for 80mm fans out there.
