ok i had a hard drive go bad it was a 60 gb with win98se i went & got a WD80gb SE & used the restore disk that came with the system. Fdisk & Windows see 15gb the BIOS see the drive as 80 what give is it defective
Some drives have jumpers that limit the hard drive capacity. My IBM hard drives can be jumpered to limit capacity to 15 GB, which is quite interesting given your situation. Check the back of the drive to make sure that the jumpers are in their proper configuration.
nope no jumpers & still havent got it 2 see the whole thing. Should i use my XP home system & get it 2 make a fat32 partion on the rest & see if that works
