Hey,

Just wondering if anyone has used cables like these before?

I was about to order a 8087->8088 bracket, 8087-8087 cable, and a 8088-8088 cable to go with a M1015 and new JBOD... but while searching for hte 8088-8088 cable I saw these which would cut down my costs nicely - it just looks a bit rangi because they'll be going into a hole in the head unit. It's for a home system so I don't care about that. Anyway - these seem perfect and was just wondering if anyone can suggest a reason not to go for them?
 
I have one of these in my possession. I got mine from ebay too in-fact. This is the one I got: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/150682013642

Seems about same price as the one you're going for.

Physically the connector is just as pictured it feels well made on both ends the cable is thick like you would expect a normal 8088 to 8088 cable to be. The clips on both connectors work flawlessly. Overall I'd say the build quality is identical to both 8088 and 8087 cables from any major brand like Supermicro or LSI etc

Works fine in my setup. I have my RAID card connected to the 8087 side and then a HP SAS Expander connected via the 8088 side. From what I can tell it doesn't matter which side is used for disks and which for your controller.

monoprice had them cheaper last time i checked it. you might wanna check them out.
