Since Portal 2 is getting released anytime soon, i had a custom vinyl decal cut.

It was actually fairly easy and cheap to do, i can recommend anyone doing it to their pc sometime.
The logo is 50 cm wide (measured along the text)

The entire decal costed me about 15 euros to make.
And i ordered it at a company that normally cuts advertisements in vinyl for the use on cars.
 
Nice. How do you apply the decal so you avoid wrinkles or bubbles?

Can you post the website for this company or suggest google search terms so someone can locate a similar company in the USA.

The best way to avoid bubbles and wrinkles would be to use water with some soap in it
just take your decal to the tap and let water run past it.
Then just let it leak all the loose water of, and take the wet decal to your computer to put on.

Also use like a wet towel to brush soapy water on the sidepanel itself
because of the water, there is no air under it.
another extra is, this makes you able to move the decal a bit until its in a good position.

If its in place, just use a creditcard like object to swipe it past the decal to push the water and airbubbles from underneath it, it will speed up the process


After that just let it dry for a few hours, the vinyl will stick to the pc while the pastic transfer layer will come off. (but remove it carefully and abort if one of the decals is staying on the transferlayer instead of your sidepanel).
If they do (partially) come off just put some soapy water under it, push the transferlayer with decal back onto your pc and let it sit for a hour or so until your next peeling attempt.


To be able to obtain a custom decal i would search for advertising companies that do this stuff for on cars and windows. search vinyl cutting or something similar.
or just see if theres some local business, probably you'll be cheaper off if you run into one in reallife than just pick the nr1 website on google that ships internationally.
