800 GTO operating temps? Crossfire question?

Using the ATI tool I started a test but freaked out as temps began to go high, how high is safe for the tests both temp/memory. How hot do the cards run?

BTW the Powercolor will not unlock to 16 pipelines but oh well it was cheap.

Also my mobo says it is SLI ready so should it be able to run crossfire as well or not?
 
SLI is Nvidia only. Crossfire is ATI only. Can't run SLI on a Crossfire board, can't run Crossfire on a SLI board.

What temperatures do you get? It's normal for cards to hit 90C, but it's not a good idea. It's best to have your card to load under 70C.
 
That is okay... what case do you have? Do you have good ventilation, or is it just really warm where you live?
 
I keep my pc in a desk although it is open in the back and I keep the front door open while running. At suggestion from somebody else I put a Zalman vf700 on in and it now runs 62c with the oc. My max oc was 462 on memory or core before freezing. Just for stability I am going with 445 on the core and 423 on memory as I could see little fps difference after that.

To bad I can't unlock the extra 4 pipelines!
