$800 budget gaming build

Hey guys, I am trying to help a friend put together a $800 gaming build
and need some assistance on the best bang for the buck.

I am trying to lean him towards Intel Based system,
this will give option to upgrade to I5-2500k at future date when more cash comes in.

Standard 10 questions answered below:
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming, SWTOR, Skyrim

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$800 - this is a [H]ard upper limit, and must include all shipping/tax

3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
SE USA, North Alabama. There are no MC's or Fry's close by. So probably Newegg for most things.

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget?
CPU, Motherboard, 8 GB RAM, Video Card, DVD-Burner, Case, Power Supply, OS

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing?
LCD Monitor, USB Mouse, USB Keyboard, old 320 GB SATA drive (until drive prices normalize)

6) Will you be overclocking?
Not initially, maybe down the road.

7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
21" LCD - Think the res is 1600 x 900 on it (sorry not at his house while writing this)

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Next week or two

9) What features do you need in a motherboard?
Basics - Onboard sound, LAN, USB 2/3 - No requirement for raid or onboard video

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license?
No OS license

We need to know of the exact brand and model (if not resolution) of the monitor. That will determine which video card we recommend, which should be the key focus of this system.

If you're not overclocking, why pursue a Core i5 2500K?

FYI, you don't need 8GB of RAM for gaming. The only reason why we've been pushing that lately is because the price for that amount of RAM is insanely low.

I hope you're aware that market analysts are predicting that HDD prices won't drop to their previous levels for at least another year (and "likely" two). Are you willing to wait that long? What's the brand and model of the HDD you have now?
