Ok so that's what I've got left in my budget for a PSU.

I'll have this for now

e6750
2x1gb ram
1x160gb HDD
1xdvd/cd burner
x800pro (want to have upgrade room for a 9600gt/8800gt, something like that)
5 or 6 case fans

I'm really bad at picking PSUs. I don't really care if it looks nice or not to be honest.

I'd recommend a 520HX if you can find it for about that price, maybe a 550 (but I recommend the modular-ness).

They're worth it.

check the hot deals forum.

there is a good deal after MIR for the VX550 at buy.com

the corsair seem to provide the most performance these days while offering excellent value.

Check the FS forums...usually some pretty good PSU's in there

THIS.
Price starts at 83 and you can bring it down 10 dollars with googlecheckout or a coupon. AND you and still send in the rebate to get some money back.

OCZ GameXstream isn't what I'd suggest. Out of spec ripple at high load.

Who recommended a GameXtreme? No one as far as I can see...

I totally encourage the original poster to check out Corsair's line of power supplies. Corsair units are either Seasonic or Channel Well Technologies based units and are extremely high quality.

So long as you don't plan on going SLI I would recommend the Corsair 450VX. It's plenty of power for the system you spec'ed and is a solid Seasonic design that easily fits into your $80 budget.

I would definitely recommend any of the Corsair VX series as they too contain the high quality of my HX modular and my SeaSonics S12.
