man this is exciting really!...i really wou,ld like to know how good they could go up in like a quake 3 bench ( in glide of course)...but..for 1000 dollors...you will have sum bragging rights seeing how youll have 4 damn monster cards in your comp....

I WANT BENCHES..someone email that guy and tell him to load up some quake 3 demos :D
 
Imagine if current SLI could support that many cards... Imagine... 8 680Ultras... Youd need an 1000watt psu but damnnn.... like a million 3dmarks, and like 400FPS in HL2, with all settings, and 2100x1600 resolution... And ALL oced with that dangerden Silver waterblock, that cools both the ram AND GPU, every 2 has its own line (heatercore etc...) and 16 monitors,,,

all for $7200...

no as far as quake three (same gen) goes not every other game...thats obvious

A game thats as CPU dependant (at this point) as quake 3? Unlikely.
 
Too expensive for a piece of history. A current card for 1/2 the price of the opening bid is faster and has much better features.
 
I sold my diablo 2 account for $800 a few weeks ago...

I was surprised I got THAT much for it...

10xLadder High runes goes for 20 bucks....u would have had to been HELLA rich.
 
I basically had 4 characters (Barbarian, Sorceress, amazon and palidan) maxed out at lvl 99 (the amazon was 97). I can't really remember what the items were (I stpped playing like a long time ago) just a rich friend of mine, really wanted my account, and bought it, I also had a mule which had pretty much the best items (again, I really cn't remeber the names, stormbringer or something). Back when sold it, accounts like mine went for an extreme amount. Luckily, I had never actually boughten anything (got all my stuff through trading and such) so basically from the $60 I spent on the game, I got a $740 profit...

I still have all that money, recently got a job, saving up for a new compooter.
 
as for the speed of that card, it was used to show off the voodoo5 6000 features before they had working cards. So maybe it could beat a Geforce2 Ultra, maybe.
 
Quantum3D was very well known back in the day for the single card Voodoo1 SLI and Voodoo2 SLI retail products, and multiple Voodoo2 SLI setups for their Heavy Metal simulators/arcade systems. They might even still make 16x VSA-100 systems.

BTW, I believe that "brick" had a price tag of about $5000 when it came out.

Back in the day, I was duping unid Windforces, and selling them on e-bay for about $80 or so each... everybody thought that unid = legit, since the most popular dupe couldn't dupe unid's... you can't socket them ;). Ahh, the memories. :eek:

I loved my Quantum3D X24 card. That thing was insane in Quake 2. I sold it though.

WTF was the guy thinking? 1k for the cards??!!! You can pic them up for like $30 ea. Why would anyone pay that much for 8 or em'? Did I miss something?
 
yeah your definitly right...but as i bet it is hard to find the card that connects them all to ather..riser card..something like that...

remember it wasnt 8 of them it was 4 of them with Dual GPU SLI onboard...wich in turn comes to 8 GPUs in SLI..but 4 cards...they were weird..i would really like to see that in a fitting case..that set up is HUGE!!!!! :eek:
