I though i read a typo when i saw it on different models at silverstone does this mean that the new 2000 series will be power guzzling monsters, and that is that why where seeing more and more psu with more thant 1kw?

No the 2000 series will not need a 1kw psu. Maybe in crossfire but we'll just have to see i guess. ;) But there are many x8800 sli systems with much less than 1kw psu's.

Alright i thought that i was going to have to put a boat load of money for a psu in my new system. But ive only seen two psu with 8 pin connector for pci-e, and one was 750w and the other was 1200w?

Quite a few PSUs have native 8-pin connectors. Silverstone Strider 750w and 850w (i'm not sure about the low-end models), Silverstone Olympia 1kW, Enermax 1kW DXX, NXZT 1kW... to name a few. Pretty soon it'll become the norm with the next-generation graphics cards and all.
