I'm wondering if i'm going to have any problems with trying to burn an audio cd (off the harddrive) onto 8 lg 52x32x52 cd burners at once

i'll be using a p4p800-e deluxe motherboard, so ive got 4 ide devices from the south bridge, and another 2 from the raid controller, and then i'll also be buying a 2 channel pci ide controller (rocket133 or something else) so i could have upto 10 ide drives

i will either be getting the cm stacker case (supports 8 cdroms) or the thermaltake armor (supports 10 cdroms).. any suggestions on which to get?

the reason i need so many cd burners is because this will be a church audio computer which would record the service, and at the end of the service, would be putting out cds of the sermon, etc for people to take home

its gonna be a p4 3.0E, 1gig ram, seagate 200gb sata ncq system so it should be able to handle it, i would think..

do you guys know if nero or some other burning software would support burning to 8 cd burners at once without problems?

Motherboard onboard RAID controllers tend not to like optical drives. I'd use that for your hard drive(s).

And by the way, if you don't use the 4-in-3 module, the Stacker supports up to 11 drives (and with that many burners going, you're going to need the slave PSU).

Also, have you considered just burning 1 then dropping it in a duplicator? No software issues!

well i know i can turn the onboard raid controller into a 'regular' ide controller, but if it supports cd burners or not, im not sure..
i would take it out the 4in3.. but i need the 4in3 module for my harddrive(s)..

i looked a bit into the duplicator idea, but its pretty expensive..$1500CAD for a 8drive duplicator.. whereas in a computer it would be <$300CAD

hmm.. about a slave psu.. u dont think an enermax 485w powersupply would do the trick?

Actually, you just need to get some hard drive adapter rails, no need to take up the other 2 bays.

Also, consider the Codegen 9011; a little cheaper alternative with a lot of optical bays.

A controller for a CD-Duplication system is only like $300CAD, and that requires no mobo, CPU, etc, all you need is a case, PSU('s) and the CD-RW's.

If you want more information just PM SarverSystems
