8-bit 20"?

Best choices:

Viewsonic VX2025WM - P-MVA panel. Some viewing angle issues, stand is kind of cheap but its a good price. No 1:1 aspect ratio adjust, if I recall correctly

Dell 2007wfp - S-IPS panel. Better value than VX2025WM if you use a Dell online coupon

NEC 20WMGX2 - AS-IPS panel. The best, most expensive choice. Feature packed and dynamic backlight is great for dark games/movies. Glossy screen can be a problem in a well-lit environment

I just use the control panel if I need to scale. You can choose fixed-aspect (that's 1:1 right?), let nvidia do scaling, let your monitor do scaling, do not scale. Using BFG 6600 GT OC.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but with the Dell 2007wfp, don't you have the risk of getting some other kind of panel too? And I'm guessing none of the cheapies on newegg (under $300) use a decent panel.

A slim chance, very slim but just return for a refund if it is an issue.

the LG is an 8bit panel, idd say the dell or LG (i saved the money) then viewsonic then samsung 204/205 is a bit better than the viewsonic tho. depends on things i guess. go to circuit shack and check them out, make sure the image is in native res and preff. DVI.i went with the LG, dell would have been 2nd choice, then samsung, then the view. ive confirmed from two different people about the LG, they both said 16.7M colors, 8bit. the blacks are BLACK and the whites are WHITE. much better than my old dell 19'' CRT in terms of eye strain and image quality all around. no lag at all, i mainly play games or do web.
