8.8 = Black screen on startup?

Anyone else have an issue with catalyst 8.8 where after windows starts up with the new driver the screen just goes black and stays black? I did mod my bios, but I kept my origional and just changed the fan speed ramp and the overclock. Had to go in to safe mode and do a system restore to be able to run windows normally again.
