I used to have the CL8 Vengeance Corsair kit switched over to the 9-9-9-24 G.Skill kit that was on sale for 30$ but having some random crashign and whatnot this ram saysa it was designed for p67 which is why i put my older ram on the p55 pc i have but i might have to switch back if this one is causing a bottle neck if both are running xmp 1600 does the timing make much differnce? (not on paper etiehr i mean real world..) which would u use

I would suspect you got some DOA memory. Have you run memtest? If not, I would highly suggest it. As for your original question, the difference in the real world between CL8 and CL9 is highly marginal.

i used windows 7 mem test and some other in windows test they both came up no errors multiple times already switched back to the vengeance my oc isnt crashing anymore.. hopefully when i get my spare psu in and i test the gskill on my other pc it doesnt bug out cause then ill have to replace lol

Higher quality low CAS/voltage always works best for my over clocked systems.

Regardless, the latency isn't causing your problems. However, if you're trying to run at 1T is would suggest going to 2T.

I don't know how good the Windows memory test is, but I can tell you that I wouldn't use it. Everyone knows that memtest is good and will find problems. It takes a lot longer to run than the Windows test. It would make one think that it's being more thorough. I would suggest testing over night with memtest. If you don't want to do that I would suggest trying running each stick separately. I would also try different configurations.

Running Prime 95 couldn't hurt either.
