Is this only needed for the AGP part? What about PCI-E, as I have a regular Diamond 3850...
 
(This applies to the hotfix driver, I don't know if it also applies to the normal driver.)

Just as an FYI, if you use Driver Cleaner Pro on your prior driver install before installing the 8.4 driver, only choose to clean "ATI," don't choose "ATI CCC" or you will have problems. It cleans something the new driver install needs.
