7k500 VS WD4000YR Multitasking

Im trying to decide between the Hitachi Deskstar 7K500 or the WD Caviar WD4000YR for my new system.

I've read the StorageReview reviews of both drives and it seems the Hitachi is King in single user and the WD spanks all in multi user. My question is what these terms mean exactly?

When they say single user are they reffering to one transfer or application accessing the drive at one time? And likewise for multi user more than one application making reads/writes to the drive?

Im just a little unclear which drive I should go for as I do alot of multitasking.

Well I mentioned multitasking. Are you asking specific apps? I do alot web design... so

Photoshop
Adobe Premier
Media Ripping
Gaming (like to be able to run them smooth but its not my sole purpose)

I like my system to feel snappy when Im working with multiple windows.
 
Well your hard drive won't make much of a difference for many windows. But the hitachi has NCQ which should help with multitasking.
 
Single user they mean is a single user desktop environment. multi user is more like in a server environment where people are accessing a bunch of data at once or doing mutable database quarries at the same time.
