7990 fan direction?

What direction do the fans on the 7990 flow in, it seams like they pull air away from the card, I though GPU fans pulled air in.

My main concern is cooling the card, I have a 200mm fan blowing in though the side panel, two 120mm fans blowing onto the back of the card and a 120mm fan blowing in thouhg the front of the case.

In furmark burn-in it gets to 69C max, in litecoin mining it gets to 101C.

Join the club. Litecoin mining really pushes these cards to there limit. Either under volt/clock during mining, or crank up the fan with MSI afterburner.

Undervolted from 1200 to 1050, core down from 1000 to 965 an memory down from 1500 to 1400, all fans at max, GPU0 hits 95C, GPU1 hits 99C

Think I will replace the thermal paste, and mod the case for a few more fans.

Makes sense LTC mining gets the cards hot, scrypt id designed to use 100% of the card.
 
Just water cool the card. Seriously, for mining even the best air heatsink and TIM will suck and land you in the 90C+ range.

As long as its stable, who cares right? Not everyone wants to drop $$$ on a proper W/Cing loop.

If the card is watercooled, the OP can keep his card at stock clocks at a minimum...which translates into considerably higher hashrates for mining, as the OP has had to sacrifice 20% of his clock speed for stability and temps.

It would also be quieter and the card would run cooler therefore lasting longer.

Not always. If I o/c my card and run it @ a certain core/memory speeds, you can hurt hash rates. There is certain core and memory speed ratio that these mining programs like for optimum hash rates.

This is absolutely the case for example on my 7970 @1070 gpu 1500 ram, gets way better hash @730-740 vs 1100/1600 say in the 700 range.

Hmm will have to do some measurements, think a single 200mm radiator would cool a 7990?

EDIT: Doesn't look like a 200mm radiator would fit on the side panel with a waterblock installed.
