What's the 290X going to cost you? Unless you are getting some super bargain, I'd advise against it.
 
Agreed. 290 is only 5%~ (or less) slower per clock speed compared to the 290x and is a hell of a lot cheaper. I'd grab a Trix 290 or Vapor X 290 and pocket the massive savings for marginally less performance.
