7970 Prices

Memory express recently had an HIS 7970 for 270 after MIR.

NCIX also had a 7970 for $300 bundled with 3 games last week.

I would wait a bit to see what boxing day/christmas brings.

Reference MSI 7970s were actually available for weeks on sale at $300. They finally sold out after dropping to $280 I believe (well sold out at that price). The prices at the moment are much higher than they were on Black Friday and the weeks leading up to that date.

I shit the bed on that one then didn't I.

I'll have to wait until around boxing day.

Anything I should avoid from the 7970 series (manufacturer wise) ?

Be careful with XFX.

I just did a build for one of my friends. The new Double Dissipation Cards (Non-ghz edition) are coming with voltage locked.

Really sucks. A voltage locked 7970 IMHO is crippled. I was able to get higher scores in heaven with my 670 @ 1289 then his 7970 @ 1025.

It was this card for you reference.
