If this is in the wrong section please move.

I recently purchased a Heatkiller GPU Block for my 7970 and am now looking for a good backplate. I originally ordered the Heatkiller back plate but when it arrived it was pretty dinged up. So much so that I found it not acceptable and returned it.

So my first question is, any back plate made for a reference 7970 would fit, correct? It doesnt HAVE to be the heat killer back plate? Secondly, Im looking for a good looking black and blue or straught black back plate, any idea's? I'd really like to find something that was actually black and blue together as that's the scheme of the build.

Any help is appreciated!

You will need to find one of the handful of backplates and simply customize it yourself. Black and blue is simply not a common theme that I ve seen lately. XSPC may offer something, but I m pretty sure it would just be black if they even offer one. The heat killer looks to be a multi-piece design which would probably be easiest to make blue/black.

Any backplate will fit, but the Heatkiller's plate matches the nickel/copper of the Heatkiller block perfectly, so there's really no reason to use another company's backplate.

You can even make one yourself out of copper plate, sheet metal, or acrylic panels. Acrylic panels you just get the color of the panel you want, have it cut to size, and drill the screw holes.
