7970 Audio Stutter

I've got this ongoing problem with the audio stuttering (or at least that's what I would call it). It didn't always have this issue, didn't turn up until maybe two or three months ago. And it's kind of a weird problem, I don't have any difficulties with Total Media Theatre (TMT) or gaming (the gaming though goes to a receiver, TMT the same as youtube or msn videos which is to a LCD unless I am streaming a movie out to my pj) but with youtube or msn videos the problem shows itself. I haven't tried watching you-tube or msn through my reciever.

My 7970 is a HIS, and I am running Windows 7 Ultimate. 2600 K processor, along with an Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z board. The video card is running 12.7, June 26.

I've done a clean install, but I just can't get rid of that stutter (plays sound for a second, then off for a second, repeating) and it's driving me nuts. I almost always do the CAT upgrades, waiting about a week before installing them (want to see how it's working for everyone else). I've looked allover the net (here and Guru), but haven't really seen how to solve the problem. Any Ideas?

I have the exact same issue.

Its an issue with the driver. I have a thread about it on Anandtech with a video showing it.

Downgrading to 12.4 fixes it.

I decided to use the Toslink out on my motherboard for Audio for now until it gets fixed as 12.7 beta performs better than 12.4.

It's not just the areas I mentioned, but also windows default sounds and test tones in the sound applet in CP. However, I think I may have found a work-around to the problem. I haven't totally tested it out, but I've started opening up TMT and starting a movie. I let it play for a few seconds, then close out. At that point I have had no problems; I've only done this a few times so I don't know if it works everytime.
