7950 in a P5W2D-E

Remember, Just because it isn't on the list doesn't mean it won't work.
That list is just what they have tested on, remember also that other things are "certified" but often non-certified equipment works flawlessly.

Its the board it self, i have two older boards than the one mentioned and it worked on them.

They are suppose to work on pci16 slots and boards that do sli but that said looking at the board mentioned at the top is quite new and you should not have problems with them.

Nvidia is the best when it comes to two cards and have had the most sucess with them.

I am hoping for this board to work but it will only be the one 7950 and not the quad. This is suppose to be for conroe so its not released yet which maybe why. or is it?

It is the chipset which controles the PCIx16 then thwere is one 975x on the list and it works on that but most of the mobos are still waiting to be released.

There was this other thing where intel didnt want anything to do with Nvidia so its possible but i still think one 7950 will work and not quad.

It's quite a risk to buy an expensive graphic board if all I have is that it is supposed to work.

not to be sarcastic or anything but when you buy anything you run the risk that it won't work.. Don't buy from just anyone, make sure their return policy is good. If you really want the card and you get it and it isn't compatible (unlikely) you just get a different motherboard, granted another cost but it would be worth it if you are looking for the best.

Also the chances are most retailers change the product within 28 days of purchase.

Wait for the 590 version from nvidia and my advice is to buy that .
You are suppose to get a boost from your 7950 if you do.

And Faction is right , the risk is always there with every thing and you should reduce the risk.
Wait for the Nvidia one 590 , you know that will take two 7950.

Wait for the Nvidia one 590 , you know that will take two 7950. Let ati have the 975 chipset , nvidia have a good one of there own and there boards are usually 10%-15%cheaper.
