After checking the NVidia website, I see that the ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe and Premium motherboards are compatible with a 7950 based video card.

What I'm wondering is if that would extend to the plain old A8N-SLI motherboard as well?

I fired off a couple of emails to both ASUS and NVidia, but was wondering if anyone here had that combination up and running?

I know someone local who's parting out his PC and I could get it cheaper than retail and I know its in mint shape, but I don't want to plug it in and fry anything either.

I have tested the XFX 7950 GX2 on the A8N-SLI (not DX) and it worked fine. The board had the latest bios installed no issues. You should be good to go. ;)

I'm pretty sure bios 1014 is still the newest available for the board not counting beta versions, but I'll double check to be safe.

That was the one I used. Not the betas.
