Good sale going on now on them both, said if I got a 7970 I'd get a ghz but I'm starting to wonder where the best money is.

7950 boost for $289 or, 7970 for $329.

Or I'll keep holding out for used

I'd hold out fer price drop.Then again;I always buy GPUs @ EOL.cheep!cheep!

I normally do the same frigging thing lol, but I'm doing gaming reviews and such now and my OC'd 4350 ain't cutting it while recording :p

Well an OC-ed 7950 can match a 7970 GHz edition, but again a 7970 usually has more headroom for overclocking.

If I were you, I would just get a 7970, I was in the same boat about 5 months ago and got the Sapphire Dual X 7950, great card love it, but if you're anything like me, I rue not having got the better card when I had the chance. Mind you - not that my 7950 is not capable. mine overclocks to 1175/1650, just that I wish I had more..lol!

So if you want the absolute best bang for the buck, get a 7950, but you can't go wrong with a 7970 either!
Whatever you plan on getting, get one that is NOT voltage locked.
