780G and audio out question

Looking for some audio clarification here.

I'm impressed with the flexibility of the 780G mATX boards, such as the GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2H. I'm interested in finding out if anyone has hooked this board up to an external receiver, and whether the 5.1/7.1 DTS audio passed via the HDMI or optical S/PDIF is recognized as 5.1/7.1 DTS audio by the receiver. Essentially, I want to find out if the audio capabilities of this board can output DTS audio like the Auzentech X-plosion 7.1 DTS via the optical S/PDIF.

And another question: Are there any low profile dolby digital or dts sound cards out?
