When running 2 cards which 1 in temp display is it the top card or the bottom card..
I'm wondering because I have a NV5 Silencer on the top card and stock fan on the bottom card..
But the temp range between the 2 are 42 to 48 I'm hoping the NV5 card is the lower of the 2..
Is card #1 the top slot or the bottom?

GPU 1 is the top card I believe.... My top card runs +20C over the lower one for some reason.. even if I swap them the top one runs hotter..
 
No I believe GPU1 is the bottom card....at least thats how it is on my board... the bottom card is the primary card, and it is what shows up as temp 1, and it is the card that sets the default clock speeds ( i have two different evga 7800GTs)

Weird, opposite on mine...
 
test it. take off the side panel of your comp, and put a hairdryer on one of the cards.

or you can most likely touch the heatsinks.... cut and dry on mine since one is running 20C higher than the other :)
 
well the op only has a 6c difference between his cards, and I know that I sure as hell couldn't tell the difference without continually second-guessing myself.

I do believe the top slot is card#1
because I took it out and tightened the screws on th NV5 a little more and temps dropped a few more degrees.. :)
I guess I did not have it tight enough...did not want to crush the core.. :eek:
 
My top 512 BFG gets to 92C when playing BF2 after ~ 45 mins... even with a zalman on it... the lower card stays at ~ 60C.....

Thinking I might need a new cooling solution.

Seems to be mounted just fine... that is with all the settings maxed out on BF2
 
The heat from the lower card rises right into the heatsink and fan of the upper card so it makes sense that the top one would be somewhat warmer.
