Ok I have this problem... When I play CS:S certain parts of the ground flash black (i don't know the technical name for this). This leads me to believe that my video card is messed up. When I play for approx. 30 min the game hangs/crashes. Can someone tell me why this may be happening? The other thing is this only happens in CS:S not anyother game.

Driver issue. Make sure you have the new 6.70 nforce chipset drivers and the 8185 forceware drivers. If it only happens in CS Source then the card is fine. You can never say a videocard is bad if it only has probelems with one game. If a videocard is bad it'll have problems with most any high end game.

yeah i get the prob with the flashing black ground in farcry. for some reason, older drivers (77.70 and before) cure this for me.

Yeah I have the new ForceWare drivers (81.85) and my temps are fine so I'll check out that chipset driver.

I've also got a evga 7800 gt and I notice in your sig that you've got a pretty big overclock on it.
I've noticed that in certain games when I overclock it too much, I experience similar problems. If the drivers don't fix it, try dropping it down closer to stock settings. I had to do this for Battlefield. Hope this helps.
