7800gt HKEPC benchmark

Hmm...

I think actual street prices are going to be the decider on this card for me, if those figures are bourne out as the day goes on then I don't think a $50 difference between it and the gtx would amount to a reason not to go for the GTX anyway.

We'll see what the retailers do with it.
 
Im sorry...am i seeing that wrong, or did they actually unlock the 4 pipelines in that review...
 
Like someone else posted (another thread), you can effectively have 7800GTX performance if you overclock the GT a bit.
 
and they also seem to compare the 7800gt sli with x850 x2 in crossfire mode

Wow, they did.

I wonder if the unlockablility will vary from brand to brand.
 
That would actually be quite the ploy by Nvidia. Send out review samples that unlock at about ~50% rate. People would assume retail cards may follow suit.
Ofcourse, i cant read chinese, For all i know they ran a GTX at GT speeds. Hell, GT could be a totally different core.

Nvidia is gonna need something to sell these though. They are way to close to GTX price.
 
this is great overclock the 7800gt to the 7800gtx clocks and just unlock the pipes :rolleyes:
I am going to get 2 7800gt and do it :eek:
 
Bah, anyone know when Anands review goes up? Im waiting for his because hes sure to tell us when a AGP version is due to come, and im sure he will drop a R520 hint.

Based on a comment I saw on another site, I think the NDA might not expire until about 2 or three hours from now (which I think would be noon cali time).

Although I just tried the nvidia site and couldn't get in...
