That's really not that much cheaper than some GTX's that have been mentioned here. It should be less compared the price of those GTX's.

You can't compare MSRP of one part to a coupon deal of another part. What's stopping Dell from offering coupons on the GT as well?

sounds about right:

last time MSRP's were:
6800 Ultra $499
6800 GT = $399
6800 NU = $299

this time:
7800 GTX = $599 ( + $100 since there's no competition)
7800 GT == $449 ( + $50 since there's no competition)

Now if ATI was going to launch its next gen card anytime soon. Both of those prices would probably be about $50 cheaper.

Just like when ATI released its second batch of cards in stiffer competition, the X800XL's were much better priced compared to the X800 Pro's, etc..
