OK, I put together my new PC last nite...it's basically the PC in the $1500 Upgrade guide from here at HardOCP. 4000+ AMD 64 (FX-53), 2 GB XMS Corsair, 2 120GB Western Digital SATA drives, Audigy 2 zs, BFG 7800 GTX OC 256MB, and good case and mobo.
It's runs freaking fantastic! Doom 3, EQ2, BF2 - you name it and it runs just as good as all the review say they do. But I want it to be as good as it can be.
My 3dMark 05 score was 7419, which is kinda low it seems compared to similar setups which seem to score in the 8000's. What can I tweak and change to get better performance (without the accompanying loss in image quality)? Just wondering if there is some sort of reg hacks or bios settings that I should make sure I have set or some links to some sites that have some good settings. Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for the highest 3dmark scores. I could care less. I was just using that as an example of what type of performance I'm getting now and what type of performance overall that I'm looking for. Thanks for any help.
Also I'd love to run some of the demos that HardOCP uses in their reviews. Are those available? I know that they do actually run throughs but it could be nice to see a demo of what they do so we can do something similar and compare the results.
