I am building a budget system that I will later (don't know when) be upgrading. Because of this, I want to get a decent video card, and the 7600GT seems like a great option.

I was either going to get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814143051
or this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130017

The second card has supposedly had issues with overheating due to enormous stock clocks, despite the newer heatsink. The first one I have heard nothing about, though. I have never heard of 3D Fuzion before, and the logo picture on Newegg says BFG. I have had good experiences with eVGA, but have also heard BFG is the best manufacturer of graphics cards. The final advantage of the BFG card is that the board's color perfectly matches the color of every other board in my system (mobo, sound card, and the firewire card).

Should I go with the eVGA card or the BFG?

EDIT: Also, does anyone know of a good aftermarket cooler that will not block the ajacent PCI slot? Thanks.

I *just* got that very evga 7600GT KO yesterday and I'm loving it so far.

If the fan makes any noise at all, I can't hear it over the other (relatively quiet) fans in my system. Was playing Quake 4 with everything on high, AA at 2x, 1280x1024 resolution and averaging between 40 and 60 fps.

In my system (and in this rather warm apartment despite the best efforts of the air conditioning), the temps at idle are about 48 degrees.

I know how good this card is, I have seen benchmarks :D

I am just wondering which brand people think is better. I have a feeling people will tell me to go with the KO, because I have never heard of 3D Fuzion...

Well, according to Newegg, it's made by BFG Technologies.

I'd still go with the eVGA though.

3D Fusion and BFG are a single company in the same, I think? Correct me if I am wrong.

3D Fusion sells non-overclocked cards.

I would reccomend the eVGA simply due to the warranty. It provides me with good peace-of-mind to know that they'll take care of my if the card exhibits problems or dies.

yeah, exactly my thoughts.

I thought BFG had the best vid card warantees?

A friend of mine constantly says that, maybe because he uses BFG :rolleyes:

EDIT: BFG and 3D Fuzion have different warantees.

BFG = lifetime
3D Fuzion = 2 year
eVGA = lifetime

I am getting the eVGA, it is a nicer card.

IMO you should get the gigabyte 7600gt with silentpipe technology like i did i was a little skeptical about ordering but man i am imprresseddddddddddd

Yeah, but it takes up two slots and I am building this thing in a small form factor case. I don't have room for the dual-port heatsink... I almost got it at first because I need silence, but I realized it would block the sound card :( Also, Newegg or Gigabyte do not have the frequency specs for the card. I care a bit more about performance than looks.
