So in March 2006, I plan on finally building a new super gaming machine. I am going to get a widescreen monitor, but I am having a hard time deciding on the size/resolution.
Here is my question:
1280x720 native LCD, 26" or larger size HDTV panel with potentially very good frame rate because of the low resolution, huge ass screen, and getting a 16:9 aspect ratio?
or
1920x1200 native LCD 23-24" PC panel with potentially average to low frame rates because of the extremely high resolution, getting a 16:10 aspect ratio, smaller screen,1080p capability, and future proofing my investment since faster graphics cards and SLI will be available for upgrades?
So which is it? I figure either option will cost at least $1000-2000. That is my budget for the screen alone. I am leaning towards the 1200p panel but hate the thought of low frame rates. I do drool thinking about panaoramic views in game, and watching 1080p BluRay or HD-DVDs though!
soo...720p or 1200p?
