Honnestly havent been able to find a lot of performance numbers on these drives, aside from the 750gb version.

I recently got a 7200.10 320GB, and its much faster than my 250gb maxtor (SATA vs SATAII, however).

Any other tests you would like to see run on this drive, just link em, and il run em.

On the quiet note -- I cant hear this drive spin up. The maxtor on the other hand... Heat wise? cool to the touch, dispite being directly overtop the almost finger burning maxtor.

ALT+PrintScreen -> PNG for the win ;)

Can you show us a comparison to the Maxtor, just for kicks?

I do have a download running that is saving to the maxtor... but this run looks exactly like the other runs ive done on it.

The worst part is that when I bought the HDD, I was told it was the SATAII version of the drive, however they must have mixed up the one letter in the model number, because it is infact the SATA I version... which I didnt realize until a few months ago, and no longer have the recipt. :eek:

If anyone knows any programs that will do a 1:1 copy from the boot drive to another drive, it'd be greatly appreciated -- would really like to have all my games and such loading off the new drive without needing to reinstall everything.

18 ms access time for the Maxtor? That's pretty bad - that download must have been affecting the results by a good bit there.
