Is it possible to get 7.1 speakers with the rear speakers wireless? I am using a PC and I don't want to run wires everywhere. I have seen 5.1 with rear wireless.
 
Not that I've seen. 7.1 is pretty firmly in the higher end home theater arena, where they just assume you are willing to deal with what it takes to get it set up. There are general purpose wireless sound solutions, but pro stuff so it costs a lot of money. Unless this is the kind of thing you are willing to drop some serious coin on (and remember there will still be power wires to the speakers) you are probably out of luck.
 
Lately the trend is falling back to 2.1 or 2.0 audiophile setup. I doubt you can find many 7.1 nowadays for PC, especially you want to have a setup 7.1 and having 2 speaker wireless. It will be probably very expensive or not so good sound quality, wireless have problem with audio, imo.

If you want to play games on a 7.1 than its a different story. So far, I don't think you can find any on the market now. Probably you have to customize build yourself with some tweak from a 5.1 one, good luck
 
Is this for gaming or HT use? 7.1 for gaming is largely useless..For HT, its slightly less useless. Look hard at a good 2.0, 2.1 or at the most 5.1 based on your needs. And depending on your setup, I would go wired..Wireless is kinda wonky unless you spend some real $$ and even then its kinda iffy.
 
7.1 for gaming is quite nice. Not all games support it, but when they do, it is seamless and it enhances the surround field. Particularly since surround sound in games is point source, not a diffuse field like in movies.

I don't think it is the kind of thin people should stress over, but if you can afford the two more speakers over 5.1 (and put them in the right place) it is worth it in my opinion.
 
I have been dreaming them for years lol. It would be nice to have a full 7.1/5.1 speakers cordless.
