Hi, Im new to computers and have a few questions. Im building a computer and wanted to use three 23" monitors 1920 x 1080. I was wondering what the best card would be for this setup. One 6990 or two 6070s. And is the 6990 plus one 6970 faster than three 6970s? I want to be able to run any game out there on max setting for the 1080 resolution and not miss a beat.

I may even upgrade to higher resolution monitors in the future but I got these cheap 300.00 from my friend who was upgrading. Oh,and is a Coolermaster Silent Pro bronze cetified 1000w psu enough to power the stuff i listed above like the 6990 plus 6970 trifire? Please answer asap, im dying to build my new system and im just wainting to see what gpu setup I'll need so i can clich buy on newegg which i have open in another window. Thanks for your time.

but will a 6990 run smother with less problem in eyefinity than two 6970s in crossfire?
The less hassle the better

I really would like to know if three 6970s are faster than the 6990 + 6970 setup as I cant find any benchmarks comparing the two. I know that the 6990 + 6970 is blazing but I was hoping to get input on three 6970s because I had read the three cards in tri fire lose some power, does the 6990 a single card (with 2 gpus) + 6970 circumvent the tri fire thing or is what I read about the third card in tri fire not adding much perfomance wrong? and once again if anybody has first hand experience with two 6970 vs the 6990 would you please tell me which 1 ran smoother with less problems as I heard cross fire did have problems,I would be willing to give up a little performance for reliability I just want to get the most for my 1000 plus dollars. Thanks.

you can easily OC your 6990 to stock 6970 speeds and then you will get same performance as a 3x6970 setup.

If your mobo supports Trifire would be cheaper to get three cards tough. Not to mention less noisy coolers.
