Not finding a real definitive answer on my searches in finding an Nvidia based upgrade for my wife's XFX6970 (originally mine). Looking to see if there is an Nvidia upgrade in the $300 ballpark for her that's worth the money spent? Crossfire is not an option due to MB limitations and would prefer Nvidia. She is running 1600x1200 on a Intel Q6600.

Thanks!

The reasonably available GTX 660 for $190 on newegg is a small upgrade from the 6970. The 660 Ti is a step faster but a little harder to find, but I see it for $190 and $200 on newegg and amazon. In the current lineup the GTX 760 for $250 is almost as fast as the 660 Ti and a lot more available. The GTX 770 is on amazon for $350 which blows your budget, and I don't seem to see the GTX 670 or 680 for any reasonable price when sold as new.

So if you must buy new, I would say pick up a 660 Ti for $200. Don't seem to find anything new at the $300 pricepoint.

Sell it to a miner and buy a 780. They're still overpaying for 3 year old cards.

I was considering this after reading some other postings on the forums here. I actually have two of them, one is in a "guest" pc.

thanks for the info everyone!
