I went in the store talked to the manager, because I'm building a new system. It's more specifically an XFX 6970. As soon as the NDA is gone, IE tomorrow. They ship it from their warehouse to me. Again it was 399.
 
Overpaid? I dunno.

Conversion rates suggest the UK price of £280 is $441 taking into account VAT, I would say that's probably about right.
 
CompUSA B&M is higher than online stores like Newegg.
Also that card is not sold on the shelf card. It has to be ordered online and shipped to store.
Look like the manager will put the order in for you tomorrow. I have plenty of CU in my area, but I rather pay less if I was in the market for one.
Then having to pay tax on top of the $399 makes it too much for me.
