6950 wires...halp

So I just sold my old 6950 on eBay. I just mailed the card because the only cord I remember coming with it was the crossfire connector that I don't have anymore.

The guy is saying its supposed to come with the 2 6 pin cable connectors that plug into the card.

I dont remember ever seeing those and I have never used them for any card. Don't you just use the 6 pin's from your power supply....?

What wire is he talking about, was there a wire like this included?

Thanks.

Does he know he was getting just the card, or the whole thing with the box and accessories?

Edit: Ugh, forum was acting up for a minute and my first message didn't show up until after I posted this second one.

He's talking about the cables that convert 2 molex into a PCI-E power lead. He probably doesn't have enough PCI-E power cables coming out of his PSU to power the card. Of course, if that's the case chances are that his PSU isn't big enough to power the card anyway. He may be doing Crossfire so he has enough leads for 1 card but not 2 - if his power supply has *NO* 6-pin cables he's just asking for trouble (and you'll get the blame the card doesn't work because his PSU is too small).

OH that makes sense.

Did the card actually come with those though? I dont even remember, I probably just threw them out cause I didnt need them. He say's his power supply has no 6 pin cables apparently...that's what confused the fuk outta me lol. I wasnt sure what plug he was talking about, I didnt even know they had PSU's without those.

Here's the message he just sent me -
"Yes, it is these 2 plugs in your previous images.. My power supply does not have connectors like these. I bought a 6950 before , msi , and it came with these 2 cables connectors. I remember well because I assumed previously that they were not really needed and the pc keept beeping till I put both connectors on."

Here's the eBay listing of the sold card - http://www.ebay.com/itm/271166215675?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1559.l2649

Wasn't in the pictures and wasn't in the description - he made an assumption that was wrong. If it was important that he get adapters for his old-ass system, he should have asked. If you can find them and if he'll pay the shipping, I'd put them in the mail, otherwise - tough.

eBay buyers appear to have gone full retard over the last six months. Last time I listed something there, I listed "free shipping," with shipping options only listing the US or local pickup. Some guy from Argentina wins the auction (for $45) and then complains when I ask him to pay the difference between US shipping ($5) and shipping to Argentina ($24), because I listed that shipping was free.

That's pretty retarded. I'm so sick of eBay lately, I sold the crysis 3 / bioshock infinite download code that you received from buying a 7950 / 7970 and the guy tried to tell me the code didn't work.

Guess what? PayPal refunded him the money and he got 2 free games....haha

Tell him to buy a power supply from the last decade, take off his little tu-tu and end this tea party :D

 I think even PSU's from the P4 era had the 6 pin PCIe connectors...

Yeah I'd tell him he needs to invest in a new PSU, most sites show a 500-watt power supply recommended for the 6950's
He's probably rocking a stock 275w beast in a cheap Dell or HP tower lol.
You could always point him to a site where he could pick up the molex to pci power adapters. But like others said, if the card won't work or shorts out from that, he'll pin it on you.

If he already has a 6950 he's going Crossfire so a 500W PSU just won't cut it. This is why I hate selling things on fleaBay, you get too many idiots who either can't read the ad or don't know what they are getting themselves into.

Unfortunately, you are dealing with an imbecile who doesn't know how to work what they're buying. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst... godspeed.
