I bought a 6950 MSI Twin Frzr III with the shaders unlocked from someone off this forum and received it today. Ran Kombuster Burn-in and temps went straight to 100 C in a matter of seconds with the fans running 100%. Same thing with bitcoin mining.... This is with the case open and plenty of air flow.. I immediately stopped the test... what temps should I expect? Anyone else have this problem?

wow somethings gotta be wrong there i have 2 referance 6950 that i flashed and was able to oc over 6970 speeds and i hit 61c max running kombustor. try resetting the hsk maybe it moved during shipping

Thanks! That did it. Must have got jumbled in shipping. Now At stock voltage and 6970 speeds and running 65 C under full load and 65% fan.

Thanks again!

Yeah, highs should be 70s with the shaders unlocked and idle should be 40s with stock 6900 series cooling.
