Hello

ETA - It'll be the 2GB version of the 6950
ETA Two - Just noticed the AMD forum...I'm an eejit!
ETA Three - Delete me please :)

Sorry, I'm a bit of a dunce when it comes to this kind of thing.

I'm running a i7 (of some description, and I'm not at home). I have a Dell WFP3008 and a two 22" (1920x1080) from my current 5870. I find things a little slow, probably due to driving the big monitor. Anyway...I'm looking at upgrading and not sure which path to take.

Can a CF setup run multiple (3) monitors?

Is the 6970 a big enough step up to justify the extra cost over the 6950?

Can I buy one this month, use it...then next month buy another one and then crossfire them? Would the drivers cope?

Thanks in advance

I don't think the 6970 will be a big enough upgrade over the 6950 to warrant about $200 more, at least looking at it from a value perspective. The 6950 should be plenty, but make sure to get the 2GB version.

Id go with 6970, I was thinking about using twp 6950 myself but got two 6970's in cross fire running three monitors and its blazing fast, mine are overclocked to 945 and Im loving it. But at the end of the day its up to you, is it worth the money for the increase? In my case yes, and with such high overcloks the difference between the two is quite large (in my eyes) but im a power junkie and Im planning on getting a longer crossfire bride (heatpipes get in the way on this card) so i can throw in a third 6970.
