68XX Driver Error

Hey I just bought a bunch of new parts and have a fresh install of Windows 7 running. I downloaded drivers for my new XFX 6870 HD video card and after install/reboot sequence I get this:

C:\Windows\system32\atiadlxy.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

I then proceeded to uninstall the driver software and uninstall from my device manager. This time I downloaded the driver from XFX site after registering my video card. Once again after install/reboot sequence I get the same error. However this time I noticed(I did not notice/check on first attempt of driver install) that the install had fault(s) which turned out to be an error installing the HDMI Audio driver.

Well I have uninstalled and tried installing the catalyst control center + driver + ect.. ect...
Same error occurs.

So any suggestions as to what may be my problem would be a great help and thanks in advance.

I would be 99% positive that I am. But I will uninstall everything again and try Catalyst Software Suit in the link you provided.

Also, is there possibly something I am forgetting to uninstall before installing the new drivers, ie there is a conflict from one to another and that whats causing this problem?
 
Just got done doing the uninstall and install of above mention driver. Same error occurs. Any other ideas? I have a ticket with XFX and hoping they respond quickly.
 
You can also try getting Driver Sweeper off Guru 3D to clean up any previous drivers that may be causing conflicts, but you mentioned a clean Windows install so I doubt that will make much of a difference. Never know.

Is your copy of Windows legit? Something else you can try is removing all the drivers, then let Windows Update download and install whatever it wants for the driver, then try updating from there.

When you're uninstalling the device, make sure you check the box to remove drivers, otherwise it will just reinstall the same ones.
