Is 68 hz on a CRT ok for playing games? Or am I going to bed with a migrane? (Viewsonic A90f+)

I like to run as high asthe CRT allows and want to have at least 75hz, usually im ok with 70 though. 60hz is painful :(

Yeah, it's kinda iffy. Just wondering what I'm setting myself up for.

Just try different settings and find the one that doesn't make your head explode.
Call me crazy, I'd love to just bypass the experimentation with subsequent cleaning my brains off the wall.

68hz is a bit low ... I was just messing with the refresh rates before replying, Im able to see flicker up to 75hz(hardly noticable @ 75hz) Ive been running 1600x1200 @ 85hz for the last 2 years without any eye strain problems (Sony G520P).

It's going to be different for everybody. For some, 75Hz will give headaches, while 75Hz does not bother me and I'm sure many others. You can't take the advice of one person with this, seeing they are not...well...you

Very likely to get a migrane.

The frequency at which people notice flicker varies, but at 68Hz on a modern monitor (with low persistence phosphor) is very likely to be noticable by most people.

I'm OK at 85HZ, but once I get down to around 80 or lower, I start having problems.

If your monitor supports higher, then set it higher. I have found that anything higher than sixty is fine.

At work, I reset to 60 for somedumb reason and had the worst flicker, it was in sync with the over head lights. big headache. Resolved by changing monitors to 75 Hz.

On my Sony CRT i can notice the difference between 85Hz and 100Hz. While 60Hz gives me a bad headache for atleast an hour just by looking at it for half a minute.

Try and have as close to 100Hz as possible, but I hear with LCD it doesn't matter
