It seems like the 5870 is better single card and the 6870 really comes alive in CF.

[jojodancer]

The anandtech review of the GTX 580 has quite a few benchmarks with both 5870CF and 6870CF. They trade blows and each wins some benchmarks. In a blank slate scenario it comes down to a 6870 Crossfire setup costing less and using less power.

Are 6870's cheaper than 5870's??

Yes, they are signifficantly cheaper. 30 - 100 cheaper, depending on models and deals.

I saw and XFX 5870 for 269.99 after rebate on newgg. I think that's the lowest price so far. You can peak up a 6870 for 230s witht he current 10% discount.

There's also a Sapphire HD5870 for $242.98 after rebate

$299.99 - $30.00 (Enter code EMCZZYR24 at checkout) - mail in rebate for $30.00 + $2.99 shipping = $242.98

So I know 6870s scale better, but in crossfire are 2 5870s better or worse than 2 6870s?
